What is AVID Media Composer?
AVID Media Composer is the industry’s most proven and trusted video editing software for movie making, television, broadcast, and streaming media. Designed to handle high volumes of disparate file-based media, Media Composer delivers accelerated high-res and HD workflows, real-time collaboration, and powerful media management.

Is AVID Media Composer hard to learn if I’m new to editing?
No, but basic knowledge in using a PC or Mac is necessary.

Do I have to take the certification exam?
No.  The Certification Exam is optional.  Students who initially did not purchase the exam ($25) may do so up to January 7, 2016.

How long is the certification exam?
There are two exams. One for MC101 and the other for MC110.
You can not take MC110 without passing the MC101 exam.
Each exam is about 60 questions with a time limit of 75 minutes.
After passing your MC110 exam, you will receive your certification via email as a .PDF. This will allow you to easily share or print your certificate at anytime.

What are the benefits of taking this certification course over another editing course?
The AVID certified user credential allows you to differentiate yourself from competitors, make your resume stand out with the AVID logo, pore your credentials with a Certificate of Achievement, and gain recognition from your employer and peers with the online Certified Professional listing.

Former students are currently working for the Weinstein Company and Sony. They have worked on various feature films including Big Eyes, St. Vincent, The Expendables, The Hateful Eight and Goosebumps to name a few.
